On the positive side, since there are so many users and websites on Wix, improvements that we make benefit millions of websites, and can have a positive impact on the Web as a whole. It’s one thing to identify bottlenecks and implement optimizations for a specific website or a few similar websites, and quite another when dealing with many millions of websites, having such a wide variety of functionality, and an almost total freedom of design.Īs a result, we cannot optimize for a specific layout or set of features that are known in advance. This high rate of growth, coupled with the current scale and diversity of offerings presents a huge challenge when setting out to improve performance.
